He is not too keen on the whole ‘settling down’ agenda, although he occasionally falls in love and tries to make it work with a partner. The result is a trail of broken relationships, a robust dating history, and often, gorgeous celebrity babies who are born already famous and rich. And it’s not just in Kenya or Africa- the concept has become so common in our generation that the terms ‘babymama’ and ‘babydaddy’ have been coined.
The new names given to moms and dads that have sired children out of wedlock is poles apart from what was previously acceptable in our society, but it signals an acceptance to how many people are doing things nowadays. The sequence is no longer ‘first comes love, then comes marriage, then a baby in a carriage’- It’s attraction, dating and babies now, whether the relationship works out or not. Here are some famous dads with multiple ‘babymamas’:
Diamond Platnumz
The talented Tanzanian artiste is not only successful at his craft- he’s successful at wooing and getting serious with the beautiful ladies too. Nasib Abdul is only 32 years old, but he’s already a father of four, with a long list of relationships with high profile women under his belt. Platnumz has been linked to Ugandan socialite and businesswoman Zari Hassan, with whom he shares six-year-old daughter Tiffah and five-year-old son Nillan. The former couple dated between 2014 and 2018. The popular singer also shares four-year-old Dylan with Tanzanian socialite Hamisa Mobetto. The ‘Jeje’ singer was humorously criticized as having mothers to his children in all East African countries when he went ahead to sire a lovechild with Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna in 2019. The baby boy, two-year-old Naseeb Juniour looks very much like his celebrity dad. Earlier this month, two of Diamond’s babymama’s, Tanasha and Hamisa made headlines when they spent some time together in Nairobi. The two reportedly have a good friendship, going against the popular notion that women who share a father to their children have to be at loggerheads.
Ali Kiba
It would be unfair to leave out the popular Tanzanian heartthrob Ali Kiba from this list- as he too has a growing list of children, and a number of ‘babymamas’. The 35-year-old Dushelele singer is known to be quite private about his personal life and hardly discusses his relationships or family publicly. Wikipedia lists the star’s children as five, while numerous other publications suggest that he has seven children. Three of the singer’s babymama’s are known by the public. Kiba is now married to Amina Khalef, with whom he tied the knot in 2018. In a rare 2016 interview, the singer spoke out about why his previous relationships with the mothers of his children did not work out. “You can’t force love.
When I am searching for a spouse, I always try to find the one who we will have a mutual understanding with when it comes to different issues that may arise,” Kiba said. The Nigerian superstar is only 29 years old, but he already has multiple ‘babymamas’. Real name David Adeleke, the singer boasts major success in his music, along with massive wealth and fame. He has bagged prestigious awards over his career, including a 2014 MTV Africa Music Award, a BET award that same year as well as notable nominations. Davido reportedly has five children by five different women. He has a five-year-old daughter, Aurora, three-year-old Hayley and finally Mitchell Adu, who is reportedly his last born daughter at the time of this article’s writing. The celebrated singer has a son with his most recent ex, Chef Chioma Rowland. The cute little boy is two-year-old Ifeanyi. His relationship with Chioma hit the rocks last year, much to the disappointment of their fans, who had already labelled them ‘couple goals’ and hoped to see a wedding, admiring their seemingly glowing five-year long relationship.

Nigerian Afrobeat and RnB sensation Innocent ‘2baba’ Idibia is iconic to say the least- he sets a precedence with his soulful voice and long-standing career that has spanned over 25 years. He has also been involved in many long-term relationships, before settling down and marrying his love, the Nigerian award-winning actress and model Annie Macaulay. The 46-year-old singer shares two girls, Olivia and Isabella, with his wife. He also has five other children with two women from previous relationships, sharing two kids with one and three with the other. Nigerian magazine Guardian compared Davido’s increasing list of babymamas with 2baba’s history, suggesting that it is time for the young singer to finally find a wife, just like his predecessor 2baba. “Davido has three known baby mamas plus two ‘mysterious’ ones. Will he end up marrying one of his baby mamas just like his senior colleague in the entertainment industry, Tubaba Innocent Idibia?” the magazine wrote.

The celebrated American rapper is known to be charming- he has no problem getting and keeping attention from the ladies. And he brags about it on his rap too- he’s unapologetic about his current playboy status, and has been linked to multiple gorgeous women in and outside the entertainment scene. His real name is Nayvadius Wilburn, and one of his most high profile relationships and consequent split was that with the celebrated RnB singer Ciara. Future and Ciara share seven-year-old son Future Zahir from their tumultuous 2013-2014 relationship.
The 38-year-old Mask Off rapper has eight children by eight different women, including Ciara. “While he rarely discusses his kids publicly, the rapper offered rare insights into his life as a father to Future Zahir, 7, Hendrix, 2, Jakobi, 19, Londyn, 12, Prince, 9, and Reign, 2, in his Apple Music documentary The WIZRD in 2019, revealing that he had a special “bond” with his children, whom he shares with various women,” Hollywood Life reports. “The connection and the bond that I have with my kids, man it’s a blessing. And I thank [God] every day for it. They love me so much and I love them back,” Future said.

The famous American actor, artiste and TV host Nick Cannon has been making headlines not because of his career in the entertainment scene, but because of his personal life. Cannon has seven children by five different women. He shares 10-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife and RnB superstar Mariah Carey. He has a second pair of twins, Zion and Zillion who are infants. He shares them with ex-partner, DJ Abby De La Rosa.
